A week of stylized darts!

I finally finished my chapter on asymmetric darts, parallel darts and intersecting darts.  So i celebrated it with a dress. The dress came out well and it fits me great! It looks  a little formal though that was not the intention. The dress has parallel darts on the shoulder that extends from the shoulder to make a cape like effect. I made a pegged skirt with curved darts at the waist. The neck is scooped. The back is the basic back bodice and the skirt back has a slit at the bottom. See pics below:

I know its a bit crumpled..i was too lazy to iron and the camera picked up very thing…eesh. Fabric: Cotton – black with white polka. Iv added a line drawing of the dress design…my drawing skills leave much to be desired he he..

I also faced the neckline and armhole. I should try facing with silk organza next time…The dress also features a waist band.
